Confusion After College

A lot of people think that personal trainers have always been fit and in great shape. I can tell you personally that is not the case. After college, I found myself in a career and health rut. I was working a 9 – 5 sitting behind a desk and as my activity decreased my waistline increased. The next thing I knew I was 50 pounds overweight (technically obese) with absolutely no idea how to lose the weight. I thought I was doing the right things by eating fast-food sandwiches instead of burgers and by taking “Weight Loss” pills. Needless to say, I wasn’t making any progress.

A desire to change

One day I decided that enough was enough. For a birthday present to myself I decided it was time for a big change. I made a decision that day that has changed my life forever. Through exhaustive research, trial and error and just plain hard work, my body was starting to change. Through this whole process one thing that really stuck out to me. It can be CONFUSING!

In the era of social media, blogs, and Youtube it has never been easier to learn from amazing coaches that at one point were simply unreachable. The flip side to that coin is there are A LOT of “experts” that take nice pictures and look great in their workout gear but really have no idea how to truly help someone make a meaningful change in their life.

Throughout my career, I have worked with hundreds of people, from all walks of life, to help them reach their goals. In working with so many different people, I have learned a great deal and can share my experiences with you.  As different as we all are, we are also all very similar. There are key principles that with help anyone (including you) move in a positive direction towards their goals.

Reaching your goals will be a journey. While I can’t pick you up, put you on my back and do the work for you. I can be your guide on this amazing transformation. There’s an old proverb, “The best time to plant a tree is 20 years ago, the second best time is RIGHT NOW”
